PCL Normalization Technology

PCL Normalization:     PCLTool can low-level index an entire PCL file to find any page, extract the page and any required PCL to make it a "standalone" - independent PCL page; such as, pages can be re-printed as PCL or rendering to other formats.  This is not an easy task, for even the printer could not start printing on a specific page (even if you could skip to the page in the PCL file).  COLD application developers can low-level index PCL files, then use this index to extract every page in the file to store as separate "page records" in a database.  Since the PCL contained in each record is "normalized", it can be retrieved, printed or rendered without referencing other parts of the original PCL file for required resources.

PCLCOLD:    PCLCOLD is an extension of our PCLTool SDK feature set.  The form overlay is first converted to WMF format, then all the text is extracted from the PCL printstream.  The extracted data is stored in a search-ready text format, and the retrieved page is overlaid on top of the WMF form overlay to reduce storage space and increase access times for large file archives.  Target Market:  Any vendor of COLD applications that already support PCL printstreams who realizes that the most promising marketing opportunity is at the PCL dominated department level, not the traditional Data Centers.
